More leisure driving and economic development has increased the number of vehicles on Japan's roadways each year. This has contributed to more automobile accidents and traffic congestion problems. At Kyosan, our goal is to do our part to assure drivers of a safe, congestion-free and care-free driving experience. We've done this through the development of numerous traffic-related systems and devices including our road traffic control systems, signal controllers, terminal devices, various displays and signage, and even parking meters. Today, Kyosan is involved in new challenges such as reinventing existing signal devices and safety facilities and equipment to provide more sophistication consistent with the high-precision communications of our new information age. |

Traffic detectors and signal controllers serve as examples of how we meet this challenge. Each year, these become more sophisticated functionally and more new products are developed. Signal controllers in particular are facing higher expectations to be able to accurately detect lines of vehicles and, through a graphical processing sensor, be able to detect and enable effective measures to be taken to manage areas of traffic congestion. Road traffic control systems information boards, car navigation systems, and ITS also require our sensors and various devices in order to perform their roles. We also respond to pedestrian traffic, in many value-added ways such as informing pedestrians of wait times and taking measures to assist the visually-impaired. These all add value to our signaling systems.
Going forward, we will continue to endeavor to provide "People-friendly" road traffic control systems based on Kyosan's UTMS (A new traffic control system paradigm). |
