| The train departure information devices at Shinagawa Station of Keihin Electric Express Railway Co., Ltd. were replaced in March 2009. Liquid crystal displays are installed in the concourse and LED displays on platforms. The full-color LED makes the colors clearly visible, and the destination displays are provided in four languages – namely, Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean – for the benefit of foreign passengers. Platform displays show graphic representations of train routes using LED modules, indicating at which stations the trains stop. |

The passenger information devices at Shin-Sakaemachi Station of Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd. consist of information displays and stand-alone information devices from which automatic broadcasting is made. The displays and broadcasting are controlled based on the schedule data and railway track conditions registered on the controlling equipment, so the system is easy to configure even at stations that cannot connect with upstream devices.
Highly specific control of displays and broadcasting is made possible by differing the control timing, based on train information (including priority trains, ordinary trains, number of cars, etc.) |
