Railway Signaling Systems
Partial-Height Platform Screen Door System
Partial-height platform screen door system

The partial-height platform screen door system is a facility that physically blocks off the platform from the railway tracks, thereby preventing people from falling from the platform onto the tracks, enhancing platform safety.

By combining the screen door systems with sensors to confirm safety at the time of opening and closing the doors and an information system linked with train doors, the platform screen doors can be incorporated into a range of train operation systems. Compared to the full-height platform screen doors, the partial-height systems have reduced mass and are easier to install at existing platforms. This enables construction work to be completed more quickly.

Curtain Sensor
An even wider detection area

The conventional permeating-type sensor focuses on the use of lines to scan for objects, so blind spots were formed on the train vehicle side when the distance between the vehicle and platform screens was wide.

On the other hand, Curtain Sensor focuses on blanket scanning that sweeps over almost the entire space on the platform between the vehicle and platform screens. Blind spots are therefore minimized. The device eliminates the possibility of passengers being left behind on platforms, giving them a greater sense of security.
