Partial-Height Platform Screen Door

Our Company has successfully delivered approximately 3,500 screen doors since it began installing products at stations along the Meguro line (Tokyu Corporation) in the summer of 2000. We are, however, not satisfied with average performance and we are striving to further improve the partial-height platform screen door systems to ensure on-time accuracy, safety and security; vital goals for railways, and to achieve barrier-free platforms.
Partial-Height Platform Screen Doors (Transparent)
To ensure visibility near the feet at the train door area and to improve the design, our Company has developed transparent partial-height platform screen doors that inherit the outstanding functions of the original partial-height doors. The new partial-height doors will have both the light weight and excellent workability of the conventional product, and the sense of openness characteristic of platform screen doors.
Two types are available
Unified door pocket-type (Offset)
There is a wide opening of about 2.5 m, and the door pockets can be made narrow as one door pocket can house doors for both sides. This is optimal when a wide opening is needed and there is limited space between separate doors.
When doors are housed
Separate door pocket-type (Inline)
The opening is about two meters wide and one door is housed in a door pocket. By aligning adjacent doors on a straight line, the door pocket can be made very thin.
Offset type/Inline type
Sense of openness from transparent screens and doors All door pocket sections serve as emergency openings
Not just the doors but also the door pocket section is transparent, expanding the range of vision and facilitating visual checks on approaching trains and near the doors around the feet. At the same time, better views can be obtained for advertisements along the rails, enabling both a sense of openness and safety. By installing the new driving mechanism, minimizing the control section and optimizing its location, the door pocket width can be minimized. In this way emergency openings can be placed where the door pockets were. All locations with a door pocket can serve as emergency exits.

Platform screen doors
Our Company has worked to develop platform screen doors that completely demarcate the platform using doors that nearly reach the ceiling. Most platform screen doors are made of glass, eliminating the oppressive feeling.
By completely separating the trains and platform, 100% safety and security are ensured. Wind and rain from passing trains and at elevated stations can be blocked, and a comfortable station space is made possible using air conditioners and other such amenities.
